Ok, so this is very early stage but cool:

#Verso is a project to build a full "#FOSS forever" web browser based on #Rust and #Servo rather than #Chromium/#Gecko. Even the interface is rendered with Servo.

Currently there's 23 contributors and a non profit forming to oversee it. There are also nightly releases for testing (remember the "very early stage" bit though!).

Verso is still under development. We don't accept feature requests at the moment, and the whole navigation workflow hasn't been polished yet, either. But if you are interested, feel free to open bug-fix PRs."

You're welcome! I'd love to see some #FOSS #Servo based web browser catch on and do to Chrome what Firefox once did to Internet Explorer.

Who knows... maybe this could be The One? 🤞

I may see if they need any design help, myself...

Never know man :D

I will still be using librewolf for the time being but if this develops futher I'd probably use it :)

But I do hope it comes far >:] one big thing that would help it is if it is easy to emped in web apps like signal desktop and such :)

Well, from what I've heard, embedding has kind of been the main use case servo has been targeting, so that seems quite possible.

I don't like how much of a monopoly chrome has in embedding because they legit just control the market and well I reallt dislike that 😔

@Blort I saw it recently but didn't manage to compile and get it running. However, I also didn't put much effort into solving it and it's completely legitimate at such a stage.

I love it! Hope it will catch on.
