@dw but also that's a 3.7V battery in the shape of a AA?!

missed_sla

@mschulkind That's an 18650, significantly larger than AA. Many battery packs are just a bunch of these in a plastic shell. Notably Tesla batteries are just a huge group of them in a shell.

rootfake

@missed_sla @mschulkind That one is an 18650, however they do also make the 14500, which is exactly the AA form factor, there are actually a lot of flashlights that can take both 1.5v AA's and 3.7v 14500's.

a12l

@missed_sla @mschulkind Tesla doesn't do that anymore. They have bigger batteries nowadays.

Shijikori

@dw depends. is your circuit meant to receive 3.7V?

sqrt(-1)

@dw judging by the image, more or less at some point

Anyia 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

@dw I guess these aren't as good as the SureFire ones?

/////\.keki

@directhex @recursive what comes first though, trans or backpain?

Miakoda

@directhex
@dw @recursive @angelastella

This chair looks like where a serial killer Easter Bunny is about to torture you via dental mutilation. 😱

Shijikori

@directhex @dw @recursive depends. how strongly do you feel affirmed with your current gender?

Andreas Hontzia

@dw Well, Samsoon made some nice hot pillows... 😉

A Wolf in Cheap Clothing

@dw@infosec.exchange
If it was made in China it should be branded Imminentfire!🔥

Irenes (many)

@dw it can be right away, if you have a screwdriver!

Larry (Mr. Prototype)

@dw I don't believe the "soon" part - if they can't be honest about the capacity, how can you trust them for anything else?

The cat who walks thru walls

@fast_code_r_us Maybe the "soon" part is the one aspect of the product that they have complete confidence in, reliably reproducible in trials? @dw

Giuseppe Stromboli

@dw this is triggering me in a big way that the angle of the background that runs through the angle of the N is not the same. 🥴

Earthshine

@dw ah my favorite brand of lithium battery

Jon Rowe

@dw @buzzyrobin did someone let “AI” design battery packaging 🤣

Z̈oé

@dw that logo design is infuriating

Ret the Folf

@dw @winload_exe Chinese Li-Ion manufacturers stop using “fire” in product names challenge (literally impossible)

Wolf480pl

@ret @dw @winload_exe smh for once a company is telling the truth directly, without PR and legal watering it down, and you're complaining? /s

Frank Heijkamp

@ret @dw @winload_exe I would like to suggest the usage of the word: "combustion".

FandaSin

@dw

If you switch + and - while charging, it will be sooner than you think! 😆

EndlessMason

@dw
The diagram looks like a bar chart, so about as long again

ThatKomputerKat :neocat_cool:

@dw @ellieraejaye such honesty in marketing is so refreshing. :neocat_approve:

goaty goats (she) :deifirev:

@dw finally, a lithium battery that gets to the point!

Winchell Chung ⚛🚀

@dw

I wouldn't let a lithium-ion battery with the brand name "Soonfire" closer than a city block to my house.

Sonikku

@dw Maybe 3400 seconds when overcharged /jk

Chesapeake (Eri)

@dw@infosec.exchange Bought some SoonFire batteries off BangGood you think they'll last?

- posted by Cocoa

deBaer

@dw Not clear how soon, but there'll be surefire.

tom jennings

@dw

Probably very, especially if you treat a 2200 - 2500 mAH cell as 3500... No way that's 3500. Yes lots advertised at that, or more, but shrinkwrap is cheap.

A quality 2200 in 1s quantity is about 10 bucks.

unlofl [Promoted Toot]

@dw "surefire" was also a hilariously on the nose brand name, especially since they labeled random cells as "20A"

the vessel of morganna

@dw There's an alarming number of lithium cell manufacturers with "fire" in their names...

Bebef 🦦🇪🇺🏴‍☠️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🚙🐼🥦🚩🏴

@dw If you want to remove the element of uncertainity, I would like to suggest the "Surefire" brand. Fire? For sure!

You don't trust all this? No problem, you are covered in this aspect as well! 'Trustfire" is the brand to go!

You don't want ANY of that fire catastrophe foresight stuff? Well, I do have bad news for you...

A red 123A 3V format battery from the "Surefire" brand.
Two 14500 format batteries from the "TrustFire" brand.
Kevin Karhan :verified:

@dw weld some 18AWG massive leads to it if you want to "#FuchAroundAndFindOut" - Just please do any experiments in a dry sandbox with dry sandbags to throw into and the area evacuated...

Thanks!

#sarcasm

catte_salad clone (da_667)

@dw don't worry if the battery swells a little bit, its just bulking.

starkraving666

@dw it's not on fire so clearly not soon enough

CIMB4

@dw if it wasn't some chinese mass junkware it would kinda be funny to turn that fake brand into an actual brand by just having a bunch if people only buy soonfire🥴

Json Doh

@veeb @dw I don't trust 1000 chinese mAh can start any fire at all
