@geekysteven One of the things the #Weird conversation has helped me, a political junkie, understand is that simplifying your message does NOT mean that you think #voters are stupid. It means that you understand that most voters are BUSY working for a living and don't have hours to spend analyzing in depth policy descriptions. This is something #Democrats seem to struggle with, and hopefully, #Walz with his more concise form of communication will help fix. @ZhiZhu @geekysteven  @geekysteven I am worried. Having someone that speaks plainly in ways that normal people understand, how is that supposed to work?  How horrible... he's a madman. How dare he give breakfast and lunch for every child in school in his state. How dare he help lower income people get free college. How dare he help veterans... shocking... this is a man who apparently seems to think that helping people over helping big business is the right thing to do. oh my.... @geekysteven As I just read on Reddit "Alright folks, it's balz to the Walz" followed by "Balz deep for Walz as Veep". I like where this is going. @geekysteven I am very happy with the directions the Dems have been going since Biden made the right decision for the country. I'm just so used to them snatching defeats from the jaws of victory. This will be a tense few months.  @Pepperbike @geekysteven It’s time for the Democrats to stop being the Cleveland Browns of politics, and I’m here for it.   @geekysteven I wasn't surprised but pretty pleased, he's basically the originator of the "Republicans are weird" line that's working so well and seems in fine form to be the attack dog as the second on the ticket. This may be the most cool-kid Democratic ticket since Obama, and we all know the cool factor didn't reach the bottom of that ticket.  @geekysteven Maybe they're trying to lose the election, but are so out of touch with voters that they don't realise this is a terrible way to do it? In the same way that the Heritage Foundation happily published Project 2025 because they thought that their weird neofascist agenda would be popular. @geekysteven haha, i see what you did there. it would definitely be refreshing to see more policy focused on what people actually need and want. let's hope it's a trend that catches on! @geekysteven I'm very glad she didn't choose Josh Shapiro. That alone makes me happy. But reading through on Tim Walz, wow. That's a very gutsy pick for a democrat. Usually the MO is to pick a generic piece of toast with light butter. This is significantly more spicy a pick. Joining UAW on the picket line as part of your campaign. It seems the Grass-Roots campaign funding has really changed the perspective of the party or, at the very least, Kamala's Campaign. @geekysteven I assumed it was going to be Shapiro because of the party’s obsession with signaling to progressives to eat shit, so I couldn’t believe the good news. @geekysteven @Tenor2JT Time to learn about Tim Walls, now that President Harris has done this wicked kewl thing!!  @geekysteven @MittenGirlPeach Has the #newyorktimes come out yet detailing how Walz will be a problem for Harris?   @geekysteven Further down the slippery slope of Obama-Biden doing things they don't hate, and even feel mildly excited about. @geekysteven I’m not getting my hopes up but we’ll see 🤞🏻
