@catsalad I am appeased to know the spicy pillow is where it should be: outside, in the wilderness of non-flammable concrete

Spicy pillows are not pets

@catsalad my head read that in the voice of David Attenborough

@catsalad Yes, bury your energy way down deep little battery, what's the worst that could happen?

@catsalad it's like a shulker: you gotta hit it with an arrow while it's open!

@catsalad @Phyxis the hermit cell is ready for a new shell. Some lucky smaller cell will move in. Sometimes there is a line waiting to trade up.

@catsalad when you’re ready for it to go back in its shell, just hammer a nail through each of those and let the pressure out*

* anyone reading this reply who doesn’t know how bad an idea that that would be… don’t.

@catsalad it might be poisonous because of the algal blooms right now, maybe rethink if you're considering eating it

@socks @catsalad
Just give it a tap with your finger. If it doesn't close on its own, discard it.

@ElectroFetish @catsalad :blobcat0_0: I would legit not sit down on that couch.

@catsalad

I just bought a new phone because of this.

I didn't go right to the phone store though, first I felt compelled to try some frigging & some rigging.
1) Super Gluing it back together didn't work.
2) Monkeying around removing screws & a metal plate, no good.
3) Let's see how this battery thing is constructed.
4) For such a small thing, wow, it puts out some heat when contacted by conductors!
5) I think I'll let this unraveled fire πŸ”₯ starter rest inside the Barbaque for a while.

@catsalad [David Attenborough voice] Here the power bank finds itself not in its natural habitat of the electronics junk drawer, but instead on the sidewalk. Being an unfamiliar territory, it puffs up its cells in an effort to appear a larger, more formidable opponent to any would-be predators. In this extremely puffed state, it’s highly volatile, as the pouches are filled with hydrogen gas. Piercing a pouch, or even too much pressure could cause it to explode violently.

@catsalad Be careful, they can become very spicy when touched in a wrong way!
Or just looked at in a wrong way.
Or just left alone in a wrong way.

@catsalad@infosec.exchange everything is a pillow if you're brave enough

Or if you have a fireproof head in this case

@catsalad Spicy pillows is a recent fear of mine πŸ˜“

@catsalad I had a phone like this once. Had to get a new one.

@catsalad combining lithium batteries with thin black shells and then add solar panels to invite people putting them in the sun, while lithium tends to start degrading at like 50-60C, always seemed like an interesting design choice
