@emaytch @mcc I had a similar issue with a Dell precision 5540 on windows where I had to disable and re-enable the touchpad in device manager when resuming from power saving, it seemed to happen more often if I was aggressively jiggling the pad to find the pointer without waiting for the desktop to fully settle down, maybe it's a similar bug from a similar touchpad
@emaytch @mcc it stopped happening a few years ago so a driver or firmware update, for the touchpad or uEFI, seemed to fix it, that device is now running Fedora 40 Silverblue without any hardware issues, although I don't really trust suspend, it might be great but I dont rely on it, that's only ever worked for me reliably on MacOS.
I like trying things so it worksforme(tm) but the only Linux if recommended for someone non-technical is ChromeOS, maybe SteamDeck.
