@TomF To be fair, I'm not aware of anything to suggest AmigaOS would be able to handle S0ix sleep any better. Maybe mandatory S0ix was just a mistake

@TomF I hear from many Linux users that their laptop runs great as long as they disable sleep-on-lid-close! I don't want to live that way

@mcc @TomF Purely anecdotal, but I'm a Windows-since-forever user that installed Linux (EndeavourOS) on my laptop about a month back and I was surprised with how well it worked. Funnily enough especially with the lid. I've had trouble with it in Windows having no idea what state it will be in when I open the lid (where I left off, rebooted or fully locked up so I need to hold power). Now it's pretty much always just at login. (Like a MacBook, which also works well in this regard.)

@mcc @TomF I _have_ had hickups in other regards and in general my usage has been more limited than my decades of Windows usage, but so far I'm mostly happy with things.

@mcc @TomF ironically one of the things that put me off of running Linux on laptops is that I *don't* want sleep on lid close, but the OS would keep turning the closed screen back on when I bump my mouse.
