@twobiscuits @cavyherd yes I think the analogy can be stretched to resources other than money, like time and energy - the more you have to start with, the more you can put into things that will give you more in the long run The linux computer itself may not be more expensive, but the investment in time is, which resolves to the same problem—especially if you don't *have* the knowledge resources or the time to develop the confidence. |

in this case a linux computer isn't more expensive; it may actually be cheaper. the barrier is real, but it's more about the knowledge resources and one's confidence in using them than in the price.
