@doktorlond Feel free to pick up a real one, I appreciate the dedication to authenticity ๐Ÿ˜…

@annika @doktorlond

at one time, I had a boss who had worked at Los Alamos during WWII

and 50 years later, he still had a little card, about the size of a business card, with Los Alamos phone numbers, that he kept in his pocket (such cards use to be common)

anyway, one of the numbers was, quote "criticality alert" LOL

@heiglandreas @annika If itโ€™s Cobalt-60 and made in 1963 itโ€™s probably nearly inert by now

@dpk i found a page that said it would have around 2 curies now, "not too bad from a meter away, but a real problem if you put it in your pocket" cen.acs.org/safety/Chemistry-P

Jamie McCarthy

@annika @dpk That page is almost 4 years old, so I guess itโ€™s closer to 1 Curie now. How many Sieverts is that if you hold it in your hand for long enough to take a photo?

@Orb2069 I don't really like the weird texturing you get on 3d prints ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

@annika
Absolutely can't blame you - thought I'd leave it for others who might be similarly tempted.

@annika Jeebus, do we need to start carrying around personal Geiger counters?

@annika Tbf, once you picked it up, discovered the text, read it and realized what it actually means, it's probably to late anyways :neocat_laugh_nervous: /j

Mister Moo ๐Ÿฎ

@annika Why make something like this that is harmless? In theory shouldn't all things with this marking always be dangerous? Yes I'm fun at parties btw.
