@Evv1L you can join a group from mastodon and... be in it... because you need to support my wall posts extension to do something meaningful in a group

Evv1L :blobcatlaptop:

@grishka same with Lemmy groups. You can join but can't get any posts from it :(

Gregory

@Evv1L lemmy groups aren't compatible with smithereen groups lol

Gregory

@Evv1L as of right now mastodon lacks the notion of posting something outside of the main timeline

Antoine-Frédéric, Smithereen doesn't work like Mastodon (or Twitter), replies are called comments and the OP can delete them

Antoine-Frédéric

@grishka @grishka Sure, this has just made me think about self-hosted XMPP or Matrix users asking room members if they saw their messages, so I’ve commented to print a comment. Thanks for the reply. I didn’t know OPs could delete comments, so I’m glad I’ve learnt it (restricting replies is also a Twitter feature, for obvious reasons, but not a Mastodon one).

Antoine-Frédéric, deleting replies is a VK/Facebook feature, and I'm copying it.
