In context it is usually clear that labor and labour mean the same thing. Could there be a rel=me attribute for a hashtag?

That's a really interesting suggestion, tho out of my realm of expertise. It might also be interesting to think about ideograms or something beyond linguistic silo'ing. Hashtags are also often full of typos which (ofc) work against reach
