I also do user tests where I watch (but don't speak) as people use the software to perform specified tasks, to see where improvements can be made.

My pet peeve are popular media players that have yet to implement replay-gain (use metadata tags in files that help to auto-adjust the volume of tracks). It's been almost two decades folks... seriously.
