if it's a fresh pumpkin there's like no way to get an STI, but there's definitely a chance of UTI since pumpkin juice getting up there probably ain't very good
for cutting I'd kind of assume that a knife, or pumpkin carving tools would do well, thought you'd probably want to cut it in a way where it's just big enough to fit
